Acne breakouts make-up tips.

If you are having a breakout you can conceal the problem by neutralizing the redness with a green tinted color corrector, such as the one from L'Oreal's Studio Secrets line.

Next use a yellow under toned foundation to add coverage.

If you only have a single pimple and the rest of your skin is fine then just address it by using a concealer that has a thicker consistency applied with a clean brush and dot some powder on the spot to help the coverage last.

Next use what I call the "art of distraction" to draw the attention away from the problem area.

For example if you have a break out on your chin, play up your eyes. If you have a breakout on the cheeks avoid using pink blush unless you are able to conceal the breakout completely as any pink tones can make the condition look worse.

Also, using pinks and reds on the lips if you are having a breakout can make the condition look worse, so go natural with lipstick or gloss.

A note of caution:
Choose only oil-free makeup products that match your skin tone. Oil-free is the key to success here so read the labels carefully. You don't want to aggravate your existing acne problem by layering a fresh coat of oil on skin that already has too much to begin with. Choose a hypoallergenic brand while you're at it.
